A Very Happy New Year to you all, families, friends and neighbours!

We must say that we had a magical December here at Meadowcare and we hope you like the results of our photoshoot.

We firstly would like to say how much we appreciated your Christmas gifts, hampers, chocolates and many goodies. We were well and truly spoilt. Thank you lovely families. Also, our volunteers help us so much. We can never have enough volunteers!!

A mention also goes to Bibiana, one of our lovely care staff here. Pat was chatting about gold rings and saying how much she likes them. Bibiana surprised Pat with a set of gorgeous gold rings. Pat’s face was a picture of happiness.

We are delighted to have our longstanding member of staff return to us after having had her baby girl. Welcome back to our Activity Coordinator, lwona. She is a ball of energy and fun and has the kindest heart, putting our residents first always.

So, we rang in the New Year with our ‘Big Bumper Meadowcare Quiz’. A quiz with a difference. A ‘nosey’ quiz about where we are all from and our individual lives (from Tredegar to Bideford, Paralimni, Cyprus to Sialkot and from Liverpool to Bristol). Where we have an opportunity for meaningful activity, we grab it and run with it…

Our plans for the future weeks ahead are numerous but namely, we are going to have some fun with fortune telling readings. Book early as there is a high demand! We have International Flower Day, making garlands and poseys. We have gingerbread houses to build and, of course, to eat. Elvis Presley Day is coming soon with music and dance. Pat and Gail are going to love this.

Chinese New Year is around the corner and because it is such a colourful celebration, we really go for it. We decorate with red and gold lanterns, fortune cookies, fabulous dress up and make Chinese dragons. Come and join us.
